Acai 100 Review
Acai 100 is the first juice that I have tried and I was able to buy this locally where I live.
This juice is made from pure wild havested acai berry and is processed according to the label on the bottle using "an age old maceration technique using the whole acai berry including the Epicarp, the Mesocarp and the Endocarp". Epicarp means the dark purple or black skin of the berry. Mesocarp is the pulpy meat of the berry and Endocarp is the seed of the berry.
This is as close to the pure acai berry as I have been able to find locally. Cost between $50-$70+ at the two health food stores that I went to. You should be able to buy this online for a much cheaper price - although shipping and possibly duty may add to the price you finally pay.
One of the reasons that I use acai is because I'm a shift worker. I get up very early in the morning and it's very easy for me to get into the habit of drinking lots of coffee. Although I haven't replaced coffee in my diet using Acai 100 to start my day - before I drink any coffee - makes quite a difference in the way I feel later on in the morning. My alertness is improved and though I still feel sleepy I do notice that I have a higher energy level in my body even at the early hours that I have to work. And all I have to start my day is about 1.5-3 ounces of Acai 100 and that will do me for the day.
How does it taste? It's neither sweet nor bitter. There is a small sour aftertaste that isn't over powering to my pallate and probably won't over power yours either. This juice is thicker than you might expect and could be described as perhaps "syrupy". You could also describe this juice as bland which is good because if you add it to other fruits and make a smoothie with it the juice won't overpower the rest of the fruits used in a smoothie.
The only quibble I have with Acai 100 is that it is gritty. This is probably due to the fact they it is processed with the acai berry seeds.
